Custom Paper Tubes Receives 2014 Best of Cleveland Award
Cleveland Award Program Honors the Achievement
CLEVELAND August 29, 2014 — Custom Paper Tubes has been selected for the 2014 Best of Cleveland Award in the Paper Tubes & Cores category by the Cleveland Award Program.
Each year, the Cleveland Award Program identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Cleveland area a great place to live, work and play.
The Winter Fancy Food Show is the West Coast’s largest specialty food and beverage tradeshow, with approximately 1,300 exhibitors for across the US and 35 countries and regions.
Custom Paper Tubes manufactures a variety of different diploma tube styles for schools and universities across the nation. The diploma tubes range from single tubes with metal or plastic plug enclosures to 2- or 3-piece telescoping tubes with seamed metal or paper curl-and-disc enclosures. We provide a range of options for printing and labeling to give the keepsake tubes a special look.
One of the printing solutions we offer is a 1-color inline, repeating spiral print on one of our stock color outer wraps. An example of this is shown in the photo where the particular University seal is printed, in a repeated spiral patter, in Pantone Reflex Blue on a white glaze litho outer wrap. This is done by printing the image from a flexo plate as the tube is being wound. For a higher end look, also shown in the photo, is a convolute label printed with metallic foil stamp. Other special processes, such as embossing, metallic ink or UV coating, are also popular to enhance the look of the tubes.

Brooklyn Herborium, located in South Brooklyn, is a collaborative effort of two mamas, who feel passionate about herbs and skincare. They provide a complete line of simple, healthy skin and home care products that are available for retail at the Brooklyn Herborium workshop or online. Their products are meant to be simple, organic and easy for other moms like them.
Brooklyn Herborium came to Custom Paper Tubes for eco-friendly, cost effective shaker top packaging for their powder products. The shaker top tubes are made of 100% recycled material; up to 95% post-consumer content. The tubes are fully biodegradable, and are wrapped in our natural Kraft outer wrap with an adhesive sticker label applied over top to keep the organic, natural look of the brand. Inside, the shakers are built with a greaseproof liner that protects the walls of the tube from organic plant oils, and also serves as a light moisture and air barrier.
The annual ORV-WBC Catch the Wave conference took place April 13-15 this year in Columbus, OH. It was an inspiring event that brought together hundreds of local women in business for a few days of learning, networking and fun. 18-year old Courtney Lombardo (neice of owner, Jodi Lombardo) had a wonderful opportunity to meet Randi Zuckerberg, author of "Dot Complicated." Courtney also had her book personally autographed by the young business woman. Randi spoke to all the women a little about her venture working for her brother Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, as well as what it means to work hard, follow your dreams and never give up. “Don’t let praise got to your head and don’t let criticism go to your heart,” said Randi.
