Convolute Labels-Digital Printing
Description
Professional convoluted labels and printed discs from our printing partners are applied in production with a food grade glue. They provide complete coverage of container from top to bottom with a straight, vertical seam on one side of the tubes. We recommend digitally printed convoluted labels for projects of 100 to 5,000. They add high-end, retail shelf and customer appeal. For quantities of 5,000 or more, please refer to Convolute Labels – Offset Printing.
Paper stock typically used for the convolute label strips is 80# Sterling Ultra C1S White Litho, unless otherwise specified, and they are printed with eco-friendly soy based inks in up to 8 colors and include scratch-resistant aqueous coating. Convoluted labels may also include special processes such as embossing, gloss UV, metallic ink, foil stamping or specific PMS colors. Labels can be produced using offset printing or digital printing methods.
Digital Printing
Unlike Offset Printing, digital printing is ideal for order quantities of between 100 and 5,000. Digital printing develops colors using the four-color CMYK process. Typically, custom packaging labels produced with digital printing cannot be coated. However, we have at least one printing partner able to accommodate coating digital labels. Without coating, digitally printed tubes have less rub resistance than offset or flexo printed tubes. Custom Paper Tubes can use digital printing techniques for tubes that have metal ends, plastic plugs, or paper caps. We do not recommend using digitally printed labels with our curl & disc ends on packaging. Digital printing is relatively economical.

Label Layout Guidelines
Custom Paper Tubes provides label layout guidelines to all customers requiring labeled packaging. The label layout schematics are sized to fit your specific package and label need, and are provided to-scale for straightforward integration of artwork in Adobe Illustrator. Simply set up your press-ready artwork within the specifications provided, send to us and we’ll do the rest.
