Custom Paper Tubes has been manufacturing “Earth Friendly” or “Green” packaging since well before sustainability became popular. We have provided many outer packages for personal care products like lip balms, deodorants, shea butter and similar beauty products. Our packages were “secondary packaging” with the primary purpose of producing a pleasing shelf presence to help the product sell. A jar, tube or bottle was typically placed into our package.
Several customers asked us to develop packaging that would allow them to place their product directly into our paper canister, thus eliminating the need for the bottle, tube or jar. While this may be an obvious solution, creating the final package has been a challenge. We have found by lining the interior of our paper tubes with “barrier papers” on the first ply, we could prevent migration or “soak through” when oil, wax or grease-like products are packaged. By using “barrier papers” such as parchment we also maintain the recyclability of the container.
There are many “direct pour” products, each with a unique formulation, pour temperature and end purpose. We have found the best approach is to evaluate each project individually. Custom Paper Tubes provides no charge samples to direct pour manufacturers to allow testing of our “Direct Pour” packaging for their unique application. With a successful test of the product in our canisters, we move into larger quantity production.

Custom Paper Tubes and our direct pour packaging is not the answer for every direct pour application. Our sample and testing process insures a successful result at production run quantities.
